5 tips to care about your health naturally
Want to care about your health? Great! But… as one of my coaches says: “EVERYBODY wants that, but almost nobody gets it”! The will is the very first point (and the necessary one!) but it is not enough to reach your goal! Consistent action will be your friend in this project. And keep in mind that… “where there is a will, there is a way!” Ready? Let’s go!
First of all, forget about the idea to separate mental and physical health… think about yourself as a whole and not parts of…! You feel well in your body? Awesome, your mental will be boost! You have a strong mental? Fantastic, your body will feel good too! You don’t feel well neither physically, nor mentally, PERFECT! You have made a great decision to break this infernal cycle and to care about yourself. Congratulations! You are already half way there!
You may find some of the tips I will share here counterintuitive… absolutely true! But try it anyway, and if things don’t go the direction you want, you have the complete right to go back to your former habits!
1°) Switch off your TV! Sounds weird? Yes! Difficult! Maybe for a while, but you will see some big differences in a couple weeks. Your inner dialogue will turn into something new and potentially more positive! I don’t ask you to not keep reading, listening to podcasts or videos… but TV is full of ads that subtly lead you to consumption (especially items you don’t need…!) and stupid shows that won’t even give you some fun or horrible news that appear all around the globe… not for me, thanks! Afraid of missing a critical info? Don’t worry, you will get it through other channels! If you have already remove the TV from your house and still feel disappointed, shocked or hypnotized by some videos, audios or podcasts you can find on social media, take your time to declutter your social media. This comes next on my to-do list. You see, I am what we could call a “social media consumer”, but with the pandemic, I experienced a lot of craziness on the different channels I follow and I cultivated the thought that I would better remove my account from some of these social media platforms to feel better. The truth is… I don’t think so! Why should I avoid to see or hear inspiring audios, posts or videos from my friends because of the inappropriate behavior of some others? I feel much better since I decided to remove some of my “social media friends and groups” from my list. Breathe in, smile, and move on! :)
2°) Identify the right and wrong people for you. Please, do me a favor, run away from toxic and negative people! I know, easier said than done… I also know that it may seem obvious for some of you. If you have a radar to decrypt the behavior of those people at first glance, massive congrats to you and… I will be your student if you don’t mind… I experienced recently being confronted to a toxic person that I hadn’t identified as such. I only thought that “she is just bad tempered, things will be better in a while” but the better never happened and she finally revealed her toxic behaviors. If you don’t pay close attention, here is what you can expect:
- a decrease in your natural tendency to think positive
- an increase in the number of days you feel in a bad mood or complain, even not knowing why
- a subtle feeling that thing don’t go right for you at all, without identifying what, and why
- negative emotions popping up from scratch…
Want to experience this? Of course not! So move on and kick them out! And dare saying out loud that they are toxic people that you don’t want to relate anymore!
3°) All the natural remedies you can find can be tested, depending on your needs! I was driven to natural medication after a frightening allergy crisis in the middle of nowhere… my body decided to suddenly reject all the chemical molecules produced by Big Pharma… I had to find other solutions to heal myself! Here are some of the products I tested and still use…
- CDB ( Cannabidiol): if you don’t know what I am talking about, you can read my article “Cannabis, the root of evil?” you’ll get more information.
- Ganoderma Lucidum (red reishi): an amazing mushroom used by emperors and royal families in ancient times
- Glucosamine, Chondroïtine, Harpagophytum: for my poor old knees, to postpone at the maximum a surgery…
- Griffonia: an equivalent to melatonin with the same effects (I never tried something more efficient!)
- Spirulin: a complex of green plants that boost your immune system!
- Aloe vera: well known for years, it seems to be THE product to use! Outside this trend, I decided to give a try to this product, coming from a serious firm ( as you probably know, a lot of companies are surfing the wave of naturopathy, natural supplements and vitamins… but not all of them are high quality! Choose wisely!)
4°) Meditate and exercice. It may seem obvious too, or boring, or inaccessible for some of you that you don’t follow this advice! Ok, relax folks, you don’t need to master meditation as if you were a Tibetan monk (if so, then a range of applause for you!) or to exercise as if you would go for the next olympic games (once again, if so, then I will be your first fan!). We may give ourselves excuses but, nowadays, exercising remains the best way to stay away from this Covid virus, and meditation also acts as an immune booster! Take both of these medications everyday and you’ll see the change! Meditation helped me decrease the number of allergic crises and the number and frequency of chemical medications I had to take to stay “alive”. Exercising on the other half prevented me from killing my working mates or disrespectful neighbors.
5°) Decide to put yourself first! You are important, not only for yourself but also for others. YOU are the most important person of your life, of your universe, don’t forget it! If you have a tendency to put other people prior to your needs, remember that exhausted, angry, in a bad mood or depressed, you cannot pretend helping anybody! Love and respect yourself first! You need time to be alone? Take it! You need to go for a walk? Go! And if a friend of yours want to be your walking mate, perfect, only if this person is in a positive state of mind, otherwise, launch an audio and put your headphones! You love water and would feel energized after a one hour swimming session? Then plunge! You feel that nature would be your best companion for the next 60 minutes? Awesome! Isolate yourself in a forest where you can welcome the energies and vibrations of nature! The examples are infinite: go dancing, take a bath, listen to classical music, learn a new song, etc… but consider you are the most important person at the moment! And take the necessary time for you!
